About Elaine

Thank you for coming to see what I have here at my site. I know you will benefit from all the delightful information and wonderful, new products I have to share with you guys. Read on and I’m sure you will enjoy yourselves.

My name is Elaine. I have two great adult children and a beautiful granddaughter. A daughter who is almost 30 and a son 27. When they were younger they were plagued with many diapering problems such as sensitive skin, diaper rashes and constant out breaks of hives.

My granddaughter has many of the same problems but it has only been while she was in diapers. The funny thing is I have many nieces and nephews who all have kids and they also seem to complain of the same or very similar problems. My children and their friends have kids ranging in many different ages. Many of these friends are also reporting that their kids are having  most if not all of the same difficulties. Are you starting to see the same pattern that I’m seeing?

When I was younger and babysitting not many people complained of these issues and you can you guess why not? I personally think it was because most parents used cloth diapers then. No, they weren’t the pretty ones that are on this website. They were the plain white ones with no prints! I have used cloth diapers before they were popular and cute!

But anyway back to this post and the reason for writing it.

You are probably wondering why I’m telling you all this. Simply to state I have changed many diapers during my years and always wished there was a better way than just filling up the landfills with needless wasteful trash. Also, there must be a very simple solution to the constant diaper rash that babies were always getting from having that wet gel next to their super sensitive skin all the time.

Well I found the solution!! Cloth diapers just like my mama used back in the 1950s, only these are so much better. The ones my mama used  were only white with the clear plastic covers that would crunch as you would move.

As shown below the diapers today have covers that come in so many different bright colors and beautiful designs! (I personally like that idea) These wonderful diapers can even come in organic, natural, and unbleached materials. They can either be flat for those of you who like to fold or they can come pre-folded so you can just slip them right in to the water proof covers that come in those many different patterns and bright colors. Now when you dress your child up you can even have a diaper cover that coordinates with their clothes.

I am doing this for many reasons but mainly because I enjoy helping people.  Why do I enjoy helping others? That is a good question and it’s not something I have ever really thought about. I have just always done it, helping is just in my nature. Possible because I was the oldest child and had to care for my 2 younger sisters. But my mom didn’t work so that wasn’t it. I think I just have a caring heart because I did start babysitting at a young age simply because I enjoyed it.

As the old saying goes “Helping others is not just good for them but it will also benefits you as well”.  What I have always been told is that one good deed can turn into countless other good deeds!

The goal of my website is to provide beneficial and worth while information so people can make clear and honest decision about the products they choose to use. With any review I write I will research thoroughly all information that I can find. As stated previously I will give my honest and unbiased review. At the end of a review if I add my own opinion I will state that it is just my thought.  This will also be the same for products and how-to posts.

If you ever need a hand or have questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.

All the best,

Elaine Smith

  5. Boy! Don’t I just wish I had come across this information when my babies were in diapers! Can’t you just imagine how much fun it would have been to see our little ones in some of those cute and colorful matching outfits? What a THRILL that would have been.

Even my grandchildren are past this stage for awhile, but I’m sure it won’t be long before the whole process starts again. Thank goodness for new generations!

Great article, Elaine. I look forward to reading more from you.

    1. Hey YaYa,
Thanks for your comments! This was not something that was popular when my kids were in diapers. I remember the only choice you had were the flats.
Now are all the popular brands in cute colors!!! So different and becoming the “in” thing to do!
Thanks again for reading and commenting.

  6. You’re tackling what I think, environmentally, is a very important topic, Elaine. We do need solutions to the trash heap disposable diapers create, and it’s great to learn that cloth diapers have undergone some great (ahem) changes since I was diapering my own kids a few decades ago. Both my grown children are very ecology-conscious, so I know when the time comes for them to have kids, they will want alternatives to disposable diapers. And I hope this is a trend throughout their generation. Thanks for leading the discussion in such a fun and informative manner!

    1. Hey Cheri,
Thanks for reading and commenting on my post. I enjoyed this subject. I also agreed that there had to be a different way than just throwing out the disposables to fill up the landfills. I remember when I was younger we only had cloth diapers but they weren’t the pretty ones that are available now.
I have been passing this information along to others that have small children now to make them aware of the alternatives that are out there.
Again thanks for reading and be sure to spread the word!!
